Watch the Auditor General on April 3rd

Watch very closely. The AG zeroed in on the F-35 Lightning II project and draft of the Spring report to Parliament was delivered to departments and ministries.

Today, sackcloth and ashes were being issued at 101 Colonel By Drive and some people were falling on their swords.
Auditor General Michael Ferguson is preparing to blast the Department of National Defence for its handling of the F-35 stealth fighter program in a report to be released next month, the National Post is reporting.
The first draft of the report has been delivered to the department and is said to accuse the military of misleading Parliament, according to sources who have spoken to the newspaper.
Which means the prime minister, the defence minister and the associate defence minister misled parliament.

A source tells me there is a lot of dust flying around in the F-35 project office. That will be from blowing off what would have been competing bids --- if there had been a competition.

The writing has been on the wall for YEARS on this thing. That's a lot of planning/bidding time lost with a ticking clock on the Hornet airframe.

I wonder what our visitors and guests from a while back are thinking now?

On that BC Ferry thing, yup, I have lots of information on that. (Including the actual cost of the repairs to the ship.)

Heh! I was pondering the same thing. The one line that stands out in my mind is, "We need this plane because it goes fast."

My copyrighted line on this plane.

A princess in the hanger and a turkey in the air.

Another aspect of this pure tribute is how much spending for both the C5A and the F35 has to be done in Merica.

Combat pilot training :

Do not forget that the F-35A acquisition will end the capacity for Canada to train
their own combat pilots at Cold Lake's 410 "Cougar" Squadron currently equipped
with twin seaters CF-18B Hornets.

From the start of the JSF/F-35 multinational project it was decided that combat
pilots training for all countries involved would be set in Usa at Eglin Air Base,
Florida.

If Canada choose the Boeing F-18E/F Super Hornet this will permit to continue
the proud tradition of training our own combat pilots at Cold Lake's 410 "Cougar"
Squadron then equipped with twin seaters F-18F Super Hornet.

To know more about 410 "Cougars", buy this 8 x 45 minutes episodes DVD :
