Especially when you consider that other recent recipients include former Bush 41 Secretary of State and all round election fixer James Baker, current Speaker of the House Denny "Pimp my Congress" Hastert and everyone's favorite gargoyle Vice President of the United States Richard Bruce Cheney. There's a good database of past winners here.
Harper didn't waste his opportunity though.
He made it quite clear that he bought the award with the lives of Canadian soldiers.
