1812 (1982) and 2012

2012 hosts anniversaries of relevance to the history of Canada. The first one is the 200th anniversary of a war fought between Britain and the United States in what is now Ontario, Quebec, and the northern US. The second is the 30th anniversary of the passing into law of the Constitution Act 1982 which saw the repatriation of Canada's constitution and the creation and enshrinement therein of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It was at this time that Canada achieved full independence from Britain.

Which one do you think is more important to Canadians and the historical development of Canada?

Which one do you think is more important to the Conservative government?

Wanna bet they aren't the same
