Holy crap

I don't normally engage in fights with ignorant shit heads, but this time I'm prepared to make an exception.
And as I like to say: "The Vatican doesn't issue fatwas."

Right. They just give them a different name.
The Roman Catholic Inquisition was one of the greatest disasters ever to befall mankind. In the name of Jesus Christ, Catholic priests mounted an enormous effort to kill all "heretics" in Europe and Britain. Heretics is defined whichever way Rome wanted it defined; it ranged from people who disagreed with official policy, to Hermetic Philosophers [Black Magick Practitioners], to Jews, to Witches, and to the Protestant reformers.
I know I'm going to get a "timeline" argument in rebuttal.

It ends right fucking here.

But bennie and his Jerks sure know how to launder $$ and parade in pumps, eh, Dave?

Good job on this one, BTW . . . .

HAHAHA!! The "Cutting Edge" is your proof that Catholicism is evil? Would you use "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" to make the same claims about Judaism?

Dave, please stick to comments on the military and politics, where you seem to have some knowledge and credibility. You are too biased (for whatever reason)to make any serious comments on religion, especially on Catholicism.

S,
There is nothing noble or sacred about the Catholic Church that sets it above its crimes. If you think there is, then I'm curious to hear you rationale.

Oh, S, please do feel free to educate us all about the noble state of the Roman Catholic Church.

And if I were you, I'd wear some serious armour.

I never stated that the Catholic Church was noble or sacred. It is a human institution and has all the failings of any large organization. But objective criticism is one thing...using dubious sources to back up your hatred is another.

Who said I was being objective? The only difference between the Mafia and the Vatican are the hats.

Let's see, does this make you feel better?

The judge, or inquisitor, could bring suit against anyone. The accused had to testify against himself/herself and not have the right to face and question his/her accuser. It was acceptable to take testimony from criminals, persons of bad reputation, excommunicated people, and heretics. The accused did not have right to counsel, and blood relationship did not exempt one from the duty to testify against the accused. etc. etc.

The Vatican doesn't issue Fatwas, says Five Feet of Bigotry. Really? What the fuck was the Inquisition?

Dave, do you know what a fatwa is? Technically, it's a religious opinion concerning Islamic law issued by an Islamic scholar. However, in recent times it seems to have morphed into an Islamic death sentence issued against an infidel. The inquisition, on the other hand, only had jurisdiction over baptized members of the Catholic Church. Regardless, why would you bother paying attention to anything Five Feet of Stupid has to say on the topic of fatwas or anything else?

As for not caring about objectivity...hey, it's your blog. Do what you want. If acting like Shaidle makes you happy, go for it. But don't expect to be taken seriously.

BTW, I like your excerpt from galileo...it reminds me of the Canadian Anti-Terrorist Act. See how far we have come in the last 700 years?

That's right! Technically it's no different than Catholic Church pronouncements, the likes of which emanate from the halls of power which shield pedophiles from prosecution.

Now look up Jihad and tell me why that meaning has been changed... by other than Islam.
