Predictions For Next Tuesday

Next Tuesday is October 14th, election day.

Here are my predictions for some of what we can expect to see unfold during the day. I warn you that it may take digging through several layers of the intertoobz looking for very local sources in order to find reports of same but find them I believe we will.

There will be squads of Conservative supporters at inner city polling stations in all the major cities. They will be attempting to intimidate ethnic and or/poor voters into believing they're either not allowed to vote or that they're not on the list and can't get on now. They will offer whatever reasons their vile anti-democratic dead hearts can conjure. Often they will succeed.

When the counting begins there will be a disparate number of occasions when Conservative partisan witness and scrutineers will raise objections to ballots cast for parties for other than their own. They will object to ballots marked with "X"s that are too small, too big, that exceed the confines of the box when examined with a magnifying glass or that simply appear uneven. Every absentee non-Conservative ballot will be challenged. Reasons will be fabricated right up to and including challenging citizenship because the absentee voter didn't have to show photo ID.

During the counting and in ridings that are predicted to be close there will be Conservative partisans outside the polling stations. They may well become unruly or even threatening when the RO or his designate leaves the polling station to take the tally to the returning office.

As the results are announced in the returning office the Conservative crowds outside the RO may well attempt to get inside the office itself and disrupt the announcement if they think the results are coming out against them.

Sound familiar?

It should.
