USA is running out of people to blame for security threats

According to the head of US Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, the next big threat to US security is Europe.

He said militant attacks and plots in Europe over recent years had made the US aware of the "real risk that Europe will become a platform for terrorists"

This follows a long, illustrious history of the US blaming just about everybody in sight for their perceived insecurity. First, it was Canada to blame for allowing the 9/11 hijackers across the border into the US. We’ll ignore the fact that not one single hijacker used the Canada-US border to gain entrance to the US.

Then came the infamous “blame
Iraq”. Somehow, God (or the Flying Spaghetti Monster) knows how, Iraq suddenly became the hotbed for terrorists.

When that particular talking point was shot down , the US turned to North Korea

Oops, that one went nowhere. Time to look for someone else to divert attention to. Enter..Iran!

That got shot down in a blink of an eye.

Ok…We’ve tried to blame Iraq, Iran, North Korea and Canada. Who’s left? Europe! One small problem… the true origins of the 9/11 hijackers seems to be conveniently ignored – Saudi Arabia. Whoops! Did I say ignore? Pardon me.

The reality is, the real threat to the US’s national security is…(you got it!)…the Bush administration. From border patrols, to port security, to airports, the US had dragged its heels and pretended to administer security. Even Chertoff’s claim to security success is laughable.

Our ability to know who is coming across our borders, and to check them and to take their fingerprints now, is far better than it was five or six years ago," Mr Chertoff said.

"We have deployed almost twice as many border patrols as we had five or six years ago. We've put up literally hundreds of miles of fencing and barriers.

"All of these are very concrete steps forward that have made our security much better than it was," Mr Chertoff said.

That’s because…wait for it…the 9/11 hijackers came across the Canadian and Mexican borders!

Please, dear Flying Spaghetti Monster, get these idiots out of power in the next election.
