And it even has pillows!

Home is where you feel safe, comfortable and welcome.

Yeah, we feel very much at home with our old friends at A Creative Revolution. Who wouldn't?

So, bookmark this. We may live in the swamp but even a proud rodent loves a comfy place to call home.

Please ... no. I'll do breakfast. Would you like Birch or Alder with your eggs?

Thank you, Pale.

The "Refit"

A term coined by Boris, continues. The blogroll is filling but if you notice your blog missing, please put a note in comments with a url. Catching up can be a bit of a task.

The new header is an Edstock production. Comments are welcome. (And yes, that is what a galloping beaver looks like.) And, I might add, that is one noble critter.

Blogroll reminder UPDATE

Look over there... to your right. We've started to rebuild it ... slowly. If you're not on it, it's because I don't have your URL.

We pride ourselves in having a place where you can move off on the next wave. If you write things we and our readers would truly be interested in, then tell us in COMMENTS to this post. It could be years before we update again. Do it now!

Don't be shy. Your Mother wasn't.

I will ask for your patience. A small finger problem just destroyed several hours work and the blogroll which was building by the minute, vanished. I promise to restart sometime this weekend.

Reminder....

As we rebuild the blogroll, (using a clean non-java, non-intusive linking system) we issue this reminder.

Yes, our blogroll has disappeared

But it has not vanished. It will be rebuilt in the next few days. In the meantime, I would ask that if were on our blogroll, you confirm your blog in the comments section. Dead blogs will be removed before the snow flies.

If you weren't on the blogroll but were a regular reader, linker, happy participant or otherwise just have a blog you think we should be reading, then, again, announce it in comments and give us a url. If we like it, you'll get the link.

Skippy! I expect you'll be right in there leading Blogtopia to our door.

One more point. We are dumping rpc.blogrolling as a blogroll manager.

We've moved the furniture...

Problems with the old Blogger template forced a change. Nothing too serious except that, no matter how hard I tried, we lost all our old comments.

We're now using Blogger's comments widget and HaloScan, in whatever permutation it became is gone... forever.

What used to be in the sidebar is now below the postings at the bottom of the page. That should cause fewer distractions.

Blog template problems

I don't know what is causing the current blog template screw up, but I'll see what I can do about fixing it later today.

Maybe it's time for a new layout.

There will be boots... and Sunday morning cartoons!

Look to the right sidebar. Note the new addition to the Ink Stained Wretches. For those who welcomed psa with the question, "Where's LuLu?", well there ya go. She was simply shining her boots.

Thumps on the table! LuLu has joined the crew.

Goodbye HaloScan

Apparently it's "Give us ten bucks or we'll disappear your comments section".

Bye bye, HaloScan!!

Honestly, I didn't need this at this time. Blog maintenance, (as evidenced by a hugely out-of-date blogroll), has been virtually dropped due to other much more important issues. Getting euchred by some half-baked comment widget trying to become the next Twitter just adds to the level of decay of the structure.

So, bear with me. Past comments may, in fact, vanish. My sincere apologies since quite often the comments are so much better than the post itself. I've looked at two apps which suggest comments can be imported from another system. I'll try, when I find a little more time.

Comments will certainly be off for a short time until the next freebie is installed. Maybe I'll go with Blogger's comment system, although I would hope not.

Blogroll stuff

I apologize for the poor blogroll maintenance over the past few months. (I am claiming absence and co-bloggers were already doing more than I could have asked).

Some links are out of date, some are dead and there are some blogs need to be added.

Regrettably, Blogrolling, which powers our blogroll, is undergoing some changes and we are unable at present to make any additions, alterations or amendments. Hopefully that will change soon.

Site Maintenance

The little SiteMeter excitement has spurred me to make a few adjustments. Notwithstanding that somehow I managed to mangle at least one part of the template when I deleted SiteMeter and replaced it with another tracker.

So... it's time to bite the bullet and shift over to the newer template management system.

Bear with us.

Vacation... finally!

We're getting out of here for a while. It's been a busy two years and a break has finally presented itself. We're taking it.

To most of those who really know me they'd accuse me of a bus man's holiday. We're taking our boat from Maple Bay to northern Vancouver Island to visit old friends. 34 feet of exclusion and solitude. And perhaps a few moments of dealing with the reality of navigation. (Actually, a lot of them, but that's the reality, and the responsibility, of being in a vessel on the water.)

We will be doing 6 knots. Period. That's our new reality. Sometimes we may be going slower. Tides can do that to you.

Who cares?

We're out to have some fun, take a bunch of pictures and perhaps, (FSM willing) catch a few fish. As much as we're looking forward to that what we're really looking forward to is what we're not going to get: newspapers, contracts, emails, phone calls and threats from the city that we were watering on the wrong day.

We're leaving and we're not coming back until we're thoroughly tired of some of the friends who helped us along in life. In fact, Cheryl wants to visit one of her bridesmaids. (There's a story you need to hear.)

Co-bloggers, it's all yours.

Readers, we'll see you when the days get shorter and the fog rolls in.
