WWW.GREENPEACE.ORG has a disturbing post by Rex Weyler, "Canada: Climate Criminal". Rex offers a nice over-view of how the Stevie Slime came to poison us.
At the dawn of the 21st century a new political regime has transformed Canada from global hero – once standing up for peace, people, and nature – to global criminal, plunging into war, eroding civil rights, and destroying environments.
What happened to Canada? Oil. And not just any oil, but the world’s dirtiest, most destructive oil. Canada’s betrayal at the Durban climate talks – abandoning its Kyoto Accord commitments – is the direct effect of becoming a petro-state.
By the late 20th century, oil companies knew that the world’s conventional oil fields were in decline and oil production would soon peak, which it did in 2005. These companies, including sovereign oil powers such as PetroChina, turned their attention to low-grade hydrocarbon deposits in shale gas, deep offshore fields, and Canada’s Alberta tar sands. Simultaneously, inside Canada, oil companies began promoting the political career of the son of an Alberta oil executive, the conservative ideologue Stephen Harper.

But it gets better:
The Canadian government has become the policy arm and public relations voice of the international oil industry, discarding its reputation as an ethical country. Millions of Canadians have expressed outrage at the government that abandoned them and shamed Canada on the world stage. These voices are rarely heard in Canada’s corporate media. Meanwhile, Canadians witness an erosion of free press and civil rights within their own nation. They should not be surprised.

Stevie also cheated to win the election too. There were the robocalls, if we knew about the robocalls, so did Harper. The he was campaigning over the radio in Calgary, on election day. That is strictly forbidden. Harper also had a many times convicted American felon working for him. The robocalls had nothing to do with the patsy of whom, Harper has now ruined the young guy's life. Harper is the P.M. of Canada, unfortunately. This happened on his watch, the election win was cheated. Harper must be forced to resign.
Harper's best buddy Gordon Campbell did the same thing. He thieved and sold our BCR, and then shifted the blame onto two patsies.
ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo is serving Harper a summons for, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Harper should be forced to resign, for many, many reasons. I don't even know, why someone like him was even permitted to run. Harper cheated to win the election. If we don't get rid of him soon, Harper will give the rest of Canada to China.
Don't forget, Fadden of CSIS warned of China's huge inroads into Canada. Harper should be tried for treason, and jailed for the rest of his life.
Does anyone really take Green Peace seriously anymore?
Yup. It's all just a grand conspiracy on the part of the Conservative Party. No, seriously. Every day I have to sweep the bird carcasses off my front step and watch all that forest disappearing. The destruction is so bad that the black poisonous clouds are only a block away from my house now. For the love of God, save us GreenPeace, save us. And send the NDP. Because I know how well they stand up for my union.
Don't forget your tinfoil hat.
I'm the odd Canadian out. After compulsively collecting news for a few years, previously hidden patterns emerge. Some snippets of information are retained and colour your perceptions.
Harper is no hero to me : but -even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Extensive Anthropogenic Global Warming may be true - though I certainly don't believe it is - but I'm damned if I think that's what the brouhaha is about....or that there is such a thing as proof about speculation about the future.
I think it was Alison of Creekside who pointed out Bush's evil genius at spinning elections coached our P.C.s some years ago. I even have a link to a briefing paper which would explain why the GOP thinks it's a con - but I got there long before I heard of any such.
The U.S. uses economic warfare as a matter of routine. Some of the most blatant are http://opitslinkfest.blogspot.com/2011/12/19-december-sanctions.html
Australia is having a bad case of 'Buyers Remorse' about signing on to a deal where the UN proposes an emergency to be dealt with by paying the UN a global tax on the use of energy - especially since the population was resoundingly against any such. And note the IPCC is a political animal - not a scientific one.
Countries putting themselves at a trading disadvantage while major polluters skip payment doesn't sound like a plan to promote anything useful.
I have a number of articles posted in my sidebar to spark exploration and a couple of collections in the Topical Index which may not indicate coherence....but consensus is nowhere to be seen.
Explore BradBlog. The stories of rigging elections go far beyond just exposing Diebold voting machine fraud.
