Laureen, we hardly knew ye.

And the small print, under that question says, On the trail of Laureen Harper, Canada's most charming - and unexpected - first lady

Oh, they've done it again. Chatelaine did the same thing. They called her "First Lady". I will point out once again, for all the republic-loving editors at Rogers Communications, that Canada has no such thing. That is an invention of Rogers Communications in an attempt to peddle an Americanism in a place where it doesn't belong. Either the editors are stupid or they think their readers are.

But, to the question.

Well, to answer the question of all the former National Post editors and writers who now produce such drivel for MACLEAN'S, she looks a lot like someone we used to know, as Laureen Teskey.

Apparently retaining her own identity just didn't make "the party" comfortable. It's so... late 20th Century. So... liberal. It so lacks in... submissiveness. We wouldn't want to give women any ideas now, would we?

So, who is Mrs. Stephen Harper?

The submissive possession of Mr. Stephen Harper. Either that or she's a devious, dishonest political animal who has subverted her real identity, grabbing onto the bonds of power by taking the name of her spouse in the name of political optics.

Take your pick. There is no gray area.
