Libricide. The Harper Government's Plan to Murder Science.

How close to home does Harper's plan to transform Canada have to get before it arrives like the grim reaper on your doorstep?

It has arrived on mine.

Stephen Harper is destroying our scientific libraries.

Years ago this country thought well enough of me to end my combat service and to send me off to become a scientist. Admittedly there was an ulterior motive. I would become one of the few who could find and provide the solution to kill enemy submarines.

I was very good at it. In fact, if one brushed off the rust, I probably still am.

Over the course of four years of study and application I read more books on oceanography than you can possibly imagine. I devoured them. I simply loved them. Every single book provided the clues to the mystery I was attempting to uncover. Some of those books were old. Very old. In scouring those arcane pages a hint of something would arise and send me searching. Ancient knowledge, well documented, provided avenues to further research.

The oldest book I could find related to the subject of killing 20th Century Soviet submarines was written way back in 1785 entitled Sundry Maritime Observations. The author was one Benjamin Franklin. When I ordered it from the NOAA library no one objected. I had a reprint edition within the week.

That book put the Gulf Stream into an older perspective. It was a starting point for another probe which would open a whole new set of question in the research group with which I was working. That group created something which didn't just find a new way to detect submarines, it actually advanced medical science.

So, when Harper starts to burn the historical research, a treasure, that this country has developed and stored, he's on my doorstep.

Stephen Harper doesn't want you to know anything that would make you smarter than him. Science, and the advance of science, is sedition. The dumber you are, the more likely you are to vote for him and the knuckledusters who swear fealty to him. His future is secure if you are stupid. He relies on that.

So, there is only one reason why this is happening.

Harper is destroying historical, scientific publications.

When I asked if EVERYTHING was being digitized and recorded, the answer was NO. A culling of "non-relevant" publications was the answer.

In other words, publications which somebody, the PMO included, decided had no scientific value, was being destroyed.

How do they know? Which book has the buried secret of a scientific discovery?

The hints, the line that could lead to further discovery, is probably in one of those destroyed books. And Stephen Harper has just made sure that you and future generations will never find it.

Who burns books but one who is afraid of what is in them?

Perspective of the past . . .

THE WASHINGTON POST has an article you should read and ponder. It's written by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, "40 years after Watergate, Nixon was far worse than we thought".

(Sam) Ervin’s answer to his own question hints at the magnitude of Watergate: “To destroy, insofar as the presidential election of 1972 was concerned, the integrity of the process by which the President of the United States is nominated and elected.” Yet Watergate was far more than that. At its most virulent, Watergate was a brazen and daring assault, led by Nixon himself, against the heart of American democracy: the Constitution, our system of free elections, the rule of law.

OK, so it's about Watergate. Ho-hum, old news. Why should you care? Well, Watergate was the tipping point in American politics, with the advent of planned, methodical efforts to violate the Constitution by a major political party — and as we have seen, with Stevie, the ideological lice have infected our conservatives too.

Know thy enemy: know where he comes from, know what his resources are, know what his dreams are — and never, ever under-estimate or forget that from your enemy's POV, his actions are rational. This ain't no schoolyard, or like the Talking Heads proclaimed, no disco, either, no foolin' around.

State security . . .

VICKIE'S TRYING TO BUILD ONE OF THESE. Inside Moammar Gadhafi’s Secret Surveillance Network: The Internet enabled surveillance on a scale that would have been unimaginable with the old tools of phone taps and informants. But Big Vickie loves us, so it'll all work out, right?

Inmates for Stevie's prisons . . .

YOU DON'T WANT to be old and poor and alone, but thanks to the 1%, that's the fate for a lot of North Americans, if the fascists have their way. Our Head Fascist, Stevie, intends to build prisons for lots of new inmates. Well, when life hands you a lemon, the creative make lemonaid.

Thus this report from Keith Veronese at io9: "If you are elderly and poor, prison is better than a retirement home". Better? Go figure. But Keith does make some cogent points, along with an important tip for Americans: do a Federal crime, so you live in a Federal prison, not a State prison, where things can be ghastly.

Considering the horror stories from retirement homes for the aged indigent, it ain't stupid if it works. 

So there's bars, you probably can't see 'em anyway, without your glasses, and it's nice to be able to hear something shut without your hearing aid, medical care is great in comparison and the food actually isn't toxic, unlike your last retirement "home", where the key to survival was as much take-out and kettle-food as your pension would buy.

This last point I have seen, in a retirement home charging relatively big bucks, believe it or not: wanna stay alive? Don't eat the chow, or drink from any of the institution's cups, glasses, even with your own stuff, without washing first; e-coli's a stone bitch, then there's viruses.

Killing off the clientele to save housekeeping costs is a bit brusque, but there's always more poor old people (aka "tuna" to those in the biz), so from a dispassionate management's view, it makes exquisitely logical sense, besides, it's cold season anyway.

A strong, stable conservative majority full of liars

Stephen Harper's Conservative government has won this year's Code of Silence Award from the Canadian Association of Journalists.

The annual award recognizing Canada's most secretive government or publicly funded agency was handed out in Toronto Saturday evening.

The federal government was named for keeping information out of public hands on files such as the F-35 program, avoiding questions at media events and for restricting both public and media access to contentious information.

You have to ask. With a "strong stable conservative majority", why are they still trying to hide everything?

Sounds bombastic I know, but consider: Stevie and his chimps didn't just commit a massive campaign of voter deception and suppression in the last election, they carried out a coup d' état. They seized power by paralyzing the political process. In other words, a coup d' état .

I'm not a lawyer, but doing a coup d'état, isn't that treason?

Sound advice . . .

BIG VICTOR IS A BIG TARGET — and so is Stevie. Get to know your local Con — you never know when a citizen's arrest might save your Canada from Con Fascism.

Be prepared: give them enough time and they will violate your Constitutional rights. It's nothing personal, with the Cons: a snake is a snake is a snake, and snakes gotta bite, except when they're constrictors. Think of citizen's arrest as the political science equivalent of Participaction, or simply, vermin control for physically-active patriots.
