Rice issues a mind-numbing assessment of Russia. Accidentally describes the Bush administration

On Saturday Condoleeza Rice, the woman who has watched the Bush administration turn the Constitution of the United State of America into a wasted document, who has cheered on an unprecedented power-grab by Bush/Cheney, who has watched Congress behave as little more than a rubber stamp for the White House, who has witnessed and nodded at the politicization of the Supreme Court, said this about the centralization of power by Vladimir Putin in Russia:
The Russian government under Vladimir Putin has amassed so much central authority that the power-grab may undermine Moscow's commitment to democracy, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Saturday. "In any country, if you don't have countervailing institutions, the power of any one president is problematic for democratic development," Rice told reporters after meeting with human-rights activists. "I think there is too much concentration of power in the Kremlin. I have told the Russians that. Everybody has doubts about the full independence of the judiciary. There are clearly questions about the independence of the electronic media and there are, I think, questions about the strength of the Duma," said Rice, referring to the Russian parliament.
Yeah. I know. Hypocrisy thy name is Rice. It stuns me that they can actually stand inside what they have created and speak words like that.

And, Jill, you can pass the icepick when you're done with it.
