They let these people have firearms...

The take over of the Republican Party by the teabaggers seems to be nearing completion. Here are two separate examples.
Ever heard of Sharron Angle? No? Here, let Greg Sargent at the Washington Post tell you about her. She's the newly anointed Republican candidate running for senator from the state of Nevada.... against Democrat Harry Reid.
... the Reid operation is gearing up to paint Angle as, well, a nutjob, as a cross between Rand Paul and Orly Taitz. There doesn't appear to be a shortage of material. And the thing is, they really only have to sit and let Angle do all the talking.
Yes... she is for real.
What's also real is the new Texas Republican party platform. You have to read Bud Kennedy's entire piece to gain a full appreciation of how loony the Republicans have become. And, they're all armed.
I know. It reads like a comedy piece, but it too, is for real.
As an added bonus, readers might want to gather in that the family-values, church-going, morality crowd that supports the tea bag revolution is also in this and still trying to sort out why their divorce rate has gone off the Beaufort Scale.
I am reminded of this quote from Peter Coyote:
... what would you call people that believe that fully automatic weapons and cop-killer bullets should be freely available; who bomb abortion clinics and advocate the murder of doctors who perform abortions; who believe that anyone who is not a Christian is doomed to Hell, and people who would elevate Creationism to the status of science? Give me a polite name and I'll use it.
Tip of the bonnet to Skippy, proof of intelligent life.

Clearly, for someone who speaks on the radio for a living, Laura has some trouble getting her dim-bulb ideas marshaled into coherent speech. I guess she's learned to speak from watch old Dubya speeches. May she's the one that needs the teleprompter. This is what she is being quoted as saying in full, and since the bit about "property owners being confiscated" isn't in here I can only assume these were prepared remarks distributed ahead of time to various new organizations,
“First they came for the rich. And I did not speak out because I was not rich.
Then they came for the property owners, and I did not speak out because I did not own property.
Then they came for the right to bear arms, and I did not speak out because I was not armed.
Then they came for me and denied me my medical care, and there was no one left to speak for me,”
Not that her gibberish is any less offensive for being phrased with proper grammar and diction. Now, the question is this: Does Laura Ingraham really believe that boosting the income tax a few percent for the wealthiest people in the United States is the same as genocide or is she engaged in a cynical piece of blatant manipulation and false equivalency in order to get people to vote and engage in political activism that is against their own best interests? Or is she just trying to stir controversy to get herself mentioned on the news? The bottom line is that she is either a completely ignorant moron, an evil fascist demagogue or an amoral attention whore - not that any of these things are mutually exclusive.
Once again the right hits the bottom of the barrel and keeps on digging.

The Tea Party Party!
"It’s time for real change," says Orlando lawyer Frederic O’Neal, the new Tea Party Party's chairman, promising to run candidates against Republicans and Democrats in state and national races. Yes, the Teabaggers are now an official "Tea Party" registered with the office of the Secretary of State.
Let the nationwide tea-bagging begin!

Thanks to Cheryl for the title line.

Some high schools do better with a pep rally than some of these cities do with a Tea Party.Heh! There's a door worth picking.
Thanks to Cheryl for the title line.
