Blame Ignatieff!

We take you now live to the United Nations for a Press Conference with Stephen Harper, his hand puppet foreign minister  Laurence Cannon, spokesman Dimitri Soudas and various other members of the government

(with only a small apology to Matt Stone and Trey Parker)

Stephen Harper: Times have changed
Our kids are getting worse
They won't obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!
Dimitri Soudas: Should we blame the government?
Laurence Cannon: Or blame society?
John Baird: Or should we blame the images on TV?
Harper: No, blame Canada Ignatieff!
CPC caucus: Blame Canada Ignatieff!
Harper: With his beady little eyes
And pointy head so full of lies
Caucus: Blame Ignatieff!
Blame Ignatieff!
Harper: We need to form a full assault
Caucus: It's Ignatieff's fault!
Baird: Don't blame me
I beg you pleasethey don't think that we're all goonsThey just love the Portugese!
Harper: And the President once
Had my picture on his shelf
But this new guy, he tells me to fuck myself!
Cannon: Well, blame Ignatieff
Caucus: Blame Canada
Harper: It seems that everything's gone wrong
Since Ignatieff came along
Caucus: Blame Ignatieff
Blame Ignatieff
Soudas: He's not even a real Canadian anyway
Peter McKay: I could've been a doctor or a lawyer rich and true,
Instead my reps burned up like a piggy on the barbecue
Caucus: Should we blame the matches?
Should we blame the fire?
Or universal health care, which we hope will soon expire?
Harper: heck no!
Caucus: Blame Ignatieff
Blame Ignatieff
Harper: With all his summer barbecues
Baird: And the elitists love him too
Caucus: Blame Ignatieff
Shame on Ignatieff
For...
The coalition we must stop
The left we must bash
The Liberals and the NDP
and anyone else that we can seeWe must blame them and cause a fuss
Before somebody thinks of blaming uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus!!!!

R.I.P. Coalition

Quelle surprise!

The liberal leader ignatieff caves to harper and puts stevie's nail gun to The Coalition,
per 24 Hours.

It appears his plan is to let stevie wallow through the next couple of years and take the blame for the crappy economic situation. After he garners strength and name recognition he can "ride to the rescue" of Canada.

Never mind that he is obviously putting political positioning above the welfare of the Canadian people.

A pox on all their houses . . . .

A coronation if necessary but not necessarily a coronation

The puffin is a noble bird
He buries his own crap
But also Rae, Stephane Dion
And the coalition chaps.
No more a fan of torture
Or adventures in Iraq
He's been crowned by the Librulz
Just to fend off Gilles and Jack.
The rest of us are worried
What's hidden up his sleeve
But all will be forgiven
If he also buries Steve.

Poem for Iggy

The puffin is a noble bird
It buries its own crap
Its favorite mode of landing
Is arse-over-teakettle asap.

Unlike those dodgy penguins
With their "family values" rap,
A puffin lays an egg just once a year -
Which is a lot less often than a certain aspiring Liberal Party leader chap.

Link : Excrement-hiding bird championed as Liberal symbol
But for the record? I think Ignatieff was just goofing around.

A delicious dissection of Michael Ignatieff

I'm pretty sure by now most people have read or have seen pertinent excerpts of Michael Ingnatieff's piece in the New York Time magazine in which he attempts a "mea culpa" on his position vis a vis the Bush administration's invasion of Iraq.

Many have taken Ignatieff apart for his apparent lack of remorse and his obvious attempt to pass it off as a temporary lapse in what would otherwise be exceptionally acute judgment.

At least, that's what he'd like you to believe. Ignatieff seems unwilling to accept the outcome of the Liberal leadership convention and is casting about seemingly trying to secure a position he could not win from the convention floor.

While the article is now over 20 days old, it is still making the rounds. That may be good or bad, but it's happening all the same. And just to remind Ignatieff why that's likely happening, it's because he was so wrong, and dismissed those of us who were right all along, that the "best before" date on any revision of thought had long expired and he was written off as a Bushco adherent.

Back in 2004, Ignatieff tried very hard to excuse his belief in something he labeled "preventative war". He did it without admitting that, no matter what tag one hangs off it, it's aggressive war and it's a war crime.

Back then Helena Cobban tore Ignatieff's narrative to ribbons. What she made clear is that Ignatieff was an elitist and his hearing was impaired when it came to people who opposed whatever view he possessed at the time.

Well, Helena Cobban has done it again and it's worth every second it takes to read it. Ignatieff - Still getting it wrong on Iraq, gives you Ignatieff's essay and it gives you the annotations which leave his presentation on a steaming, stinking pile of waste.

I could write more, but that would spoil your fun. Go read.
