WHAT ABOUT SYRIA? Bashar and his psychopathic Baathists are chewing up a lot of their citizens, and all you hear from the left or the right in this country is . . . silence. WAKE UP! Right now, we have a reprise of the 1953 East German Workers' Revolt — on steroids.
Once upon a time, abuses like this created things like the Mackenzie–Papineau Battalion. Now, it's a different era and Mac-Pap Redux is not doable, but could somebody please ask Stevie to see about getting those F-18's some Syrian sorties?
Speaking of F18, I have done some math comparing Drones to Planes in terms of .Fuel consumption. Its just a shame Drones dont cost enough or burn enough Tar Sands for Stevie.
ReplyDeleteSo Canada is to take on Syria alone? Talk about neoimperialism--and wishful thinking. Why not blame Russia, China, India and Brazil for preventing action via the UNSC (not that anyone else is willing to use armed force in any event)?

Try to keep up. Syria has to be dealt with by the UN as Libya was, with a resolution. Duh.
It would be nice if Stevie would start a political effort at the UN to get this to happen. But it doesn't have to be Canada, any UN member will do.
Edstock: If you had read my link you would have seen there is no likely prospect of anything serious being authorized by the UNSC. Case closed.
ReplyDeleteSo should the West hare off on a non-UN sanctioned military attack?

ReplyDeleteYa gotta try harder. What part about
"Syria has to be dealt with by the UN as Libya was, with a resolution."
did you not understand?
Maybe the money for the F-16s/18s whatever would be better spent on clean water for the first nations.
ReplyDeletewe don't need the bombing missions we have now and have no need to take on any more.
