World Stage Harper?

Tell us more about how we're back on the World Stage.

Fucking hillbilly.

  1. 'Course the ReformaTories have and will spin this as the result of the Opposition's poor-mouthing Canada's chances due to harper's atrocious foreign policy moves. Never mind that harper's atrocious foreign policy moves are just that: atrocious.

Personally, I would much rather have Portugal's values represented on the Security Council than harper's . . . .

  2. The mealy mouthing began within minutes. Cannon held a news conference from the UN. Ignatieff is such a powerful dude. He must have one hell of phone bill to be able to speak to all those UN reps.

  4. I was going to chide you for the brevity of your post but after reading the linked story and seeing that the first thing Cannon (and thus Harper, since he's always the one pulling the strings) did today was blame Iggy, I've reconsidered.
Given that, for much of the last decade, it would have required a block and tackle and a line seized around Harper's ankles to remove him from George W. Bush's arse had the most universally despised U.S. President since Nixon ever stopped suddenly. And given that we've cut aid to several needy nations in Africa. And given that under Harper, Canada has gone from being a neutral country sympathetic to Israel to guzzling the Likudnik Kool-aid. Given that Harper and Cannon had displayed the usual classless hyperpartisan approach by using earlier speeches at the UN to badmouth the domestic opposition parties (which combined represent a majority of the voters), I think you right on the money in the first place:
"Fucking hillbilly" pretty much sums it up.

  5. In defence of hillbillies: I've met a few over the years of residing in the southern Excited States. Most of 'em make harper look like the clown he is. Too bad the Canadian electorate can't figure that out - Yet.

    Thanks for fixing the link, Cap'n . . . .
