Corruption?! Naw. Not in BC politics.

Unless this counts.

VICTORIA — Liberal insider T. Richard Turner personally warned cabinet minister Kevin Krueger that his company would back away from its plan to build a $450-million casino and hotel project next to BC Place Stadium if the government did not proceed with a retractable roof for the building.

Turner — a Liberal donor, government-appointed chair of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and a former chair of the BC Lottery Corporation — placed the call last year on behalf of Paragon Development Ltd.

Last week, Paragon was publicly named to build the multi-hotel and casino project.

That's a little smelly, don'tcha think?

Of course, if you were checking out The Gazeteeer you would have known this a long time before the Vancouver Sun, or the Times-Colonist or any of Canwest-Global's rags ever figured it out.

And the questions just keep coming.

Gordon Campbell and his fiscally responsible conservatives. The gift that keeps on digging into your wallet.
