"Ultimately, in a minority Parliament, to get things done, you have to have the support of at least one of the other opposition parties," Harper said.
"Two of the three opposition parties don't support the government and say we should be defeated. Mr. Dion says he doesn't support the government, but won't say whether he will defeat us or not. I don't think that's a tenable situation. I think Mr. Dion will have to make up his mind."
So let me get this straight, Steeeeve. If two of the three opposition parties don't support the government then that means that one does. Is that a mathematically sound thing to assert? I think probably it is.
So what you're saying is that a minority government has to have the support of at least one opposition party in order to govern. Of the three opposition parties two do not support you. Since you do have the support of one, according to your own impeccable mathematical calculations, you should be able to "get things done".
You actually are rather stupid aren't you, Steeeeve?
One more thing about all this.
Which party do you suppose he thinks it is that supports him?
Well he's telling us in this quote that it isn't the Dion Liberals.
So he must be referring to either the NDP or the Bloc. There aren't any other parties in Parliament to choose from.
Partisans of either will be up in arms should anyone suggest that their representatives in Parliament support the Harperite malformation.
Personally I think he's referring to the NDP. YMMV.
