The Great Muffin joke debate

Some things just have to be done. This needs to be sorted out. Is this joke funny?

The humour, for your digestion:

So there are these two muffins baking in an oven. One of them yells, “Wow, it’s hot in here!”

And the other muffin replies: “Holy cow! A talking muffin!”

Now, it would be nice to have your appreciation for this joke, (or lack of it), in comments. Personally, I split a gut when I first read it, but that's just me.
