Wingnut potential - working on western sunrises.

There are times when all of us write something which, little more than a brain-fart, probably shouldn't have found its way into the annals of internet history, but Cliff May has managed to empty his bowels at the National Review Online's Corner with....

THOUGHT EXPERIMENT [Cliff May]
Imagine that Saddam had not been executed. Imagine that he had been sentenced to life in prison.
Now imagine that a group of pro-Saddam terrorists seizes an elementary school. They say they will kill all the students and teachers if Saddam is not released within 24 hours.
Should Saddam then be released? Or should several dozen innocent children and their teachers be killed?
Is it not better that we have guaranteed that it will never be necessary to make such a choice?
Oh. My. Gawd. Is this evidence of writing while suffering the effects of the previous night's celebratory punch?

So, Cliff is playing the newest wingnut talking point - potential. Let's apply that elsewhere then, shall we.

George W. Bush should be impeached immediately for getting a blow-job from an intern and lying about it. Not that it's happened yet, but the potential is there and the citizens of the United States need to be guaranteed that he won't get away with it.

Excuse me while I go have myself drycleaned and burned.
