I don't know, maybe being such an apt personfication of all that is HarperCon made them a little too uncomfortable.

If Brazeau was Gordon Campbell or Toews, he would never have been fired.
What did Harper do with Boessenkool? He worked for Harper and lobbied for Enbridge. He did some serious misconduct while drunk. Did Harper give him a cushy overseas job as he did Campbell?
Campbell was so drunk, he drove on the wrong side of the road. However, Gordon Campbell is an excellent thief and, worked very hard for Harper, to do his dirty deeds for him.

He's still a Senator and will be until such time as he's found guilty of an indictable offence and sentenced to something greater than 2 years.
He's just no longer a member of the Con caucus.
Once the smoke clears and the dust settles he will be re-instated into the caucus.
The Cons aren't averse to criminals or thugs in their caucus - only to ones with current stains on a police blotter.
Dana, I meant he was canned from caucus, like Helen Guergis was, though she remained an MP until she had to run as an independent. If he has to be sentenced to two years plus a day, then I guess he will get to continue as a the Senator in charge of Attacking First Nations for decades and collect his hideous and undeserved $7,000,000 after all.
With Harper's control over the RCMP (Ralph Goodale disappeared allegations) and seemingly more and more the justice system itself (robocall actions, Etobicoke "recount"), it is difficult to imagine him getting two years, if not discharged completely.
