Today in human exemptionalism

We learn the shiny new high speed retractable roof on BC Place cannot easily close when it rains. BC Place is located Vancouver, a city wedged between mountains and sea meaning it has the volatile sort of climate that can go from brilliant sun to cubic kilometres of falling water in minutes.

Everyone who lives in Vancouver understands this.

Apparently not the people involved with replacing the roof on BC Place.
