Maybe Doris has a point...

...about unreported crime. I mean, it isn't a stretch to think that public perception of the police may have moved into the negative under the Conservatives' watch. It is thus plausible that a lack of confidence in the police might lead people to not report crimes.

However, we won't know that for certain until well, uh, the Statistics Canada surveys that track unreported crime are completed and released. So while there are grounds for a spike, the fact that Stockwell cannot yet know this that means he's still full of it.

That said, I'd love to see the Conservatives try to explain away a rise in unreported crime under their watch. Is the minister sure he wants to go down that road?
